Are These Smile Concerns Holding You Back?
If any of these feel familiar, a simple solution may be closer than you think.
The Cost of Putting It Off
Crack Lines Spread
A small fracture today can become a major break with one wrong bite.
Treatment Gets Bigger
What a crown can fix now may require a root canal later.
Sensitivity Increases
Exposed tooth structure leads to growing discomfort over time.
Costs Add Up
Delayed care often means more complex, more expensive treatment.
Confidence Stays on Hold
Every month you wait is another month of holding back your smile.
Options Narrow Over Time
A salvageable tooth today may need extraction if damage progresses.
Addressing it now keeps your treatment simple and your results lasting.
What Are Same-Day Dental Crowns and How Do They Work?
A same-day dental crown is a custom porcelain restoration designed to fully cover and protect a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth. Unlike traditional crowns that require multiple appointments and temporary restorations, same-day crowns are designed, milled, and placed during a single visit. The crown fits over your existing tooth down to the gumline, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance with durable, tooth-colored porcelain.
At Wojtowicz Dental, we use CEREC technology to make same-day dental crowns in Elroy a comfortable, streamlined experience. Advanced 3-D scanning captures a precise digital impression of your tooth, which guides an in-office milling unit to craft your custom crown on-site. This means your restoration is designed specifically for your bite and shaped to match your surrounding teeth.

Is a Same-Day Crown Right for You?
Not Sure If You Qualify?
What to Expect During Your Same-Day Crown Appointment
Evaluation and Digital Scan
Your visit begins with a thorough examination of the affected tooth. We use digital imaging to assess the extent of damage and confirm that a crown is the right solution. Then, a 3-D scanner captures a detailed digital impression of your tooth; no messy putty or uncomfortable trays. You will feel only a light wand gliding over your teeth while the image appears on screen in real time.
Custom Crown Design
Using your digital scan, your dentist designs your new crown on screen, adjusting the shape, contour, and shade to match your surrounding teeth precisely. You can even see a preview of the final result before milling begins. This personalized approach ensures your crown fits naturally into your bite and complements your smile.
On-Site Milling
Your custom specifications are sent to our in-office CEREC milling unit, which carves your crown from a solid block of high-quality porcelain. This takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, during which you can relax comfortably. The result is a durable, precisely crafted restoration made right here in our office.
Fitting and Placement
Once your crown is ready, your dentist checks the fit, makes any fine adjustments, and permanently bonds it to your prepared tooth. You will leave with a fully functioning, natural-looking restoration. Most patients are amazed at how seamlessly it blends with their smile.

What to Expect After Your Same-Day Crown
First 24-48 Hours
You may notice mild sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures around the treated tooth. This is normal and typically fades quickly. If your gums feel tender from the appointment, over-the-counter pain relief is usually all you need. Stick to softer foods on the first day and avoid anything extremely hot or cold.
First Week
By the second or third day, most patients feel completely back to normal. You can gradually return to your regular diet as comfort allows. Your bite may need a day or two to feel fully natural as you adjust to the new crown. If anything feels off when you bite down, let us know and we will make a quick adjustment.
